Gamemaster
The Gamemaster (GM) is the person that tells the story of the adventure. She creates the world in which the players interact. This world includes the mundane towns, the elaborate castle, and frightful dungeons. The Gamemaster is responsible for all the NPCs (Non-Player Characters) who constitute the merchants, town folk, ruling class, and any other person the GM needs to provide information, supplies, and or riddles to the player characters. The GM also creates the challenges for the characters such as monsters, riddles, traps, and other obstacles the players may encounter. The principle goal of the GM is to entertain the players. Quest of Destiny should focus on the story telling and role playing of the people who are gathered. The GM should not be an adversary to the player characters but both players and GM should work together to create an entertaining time for all.
The GM should be selected based on imagination, storytelling skills, and knowledge of the game in specific for knowledge of the rules. The GM is the final arbitrator of the rules. Sometimes the GM will suspend some of the rules presented in this guide so that the story will progress in a specific direction or so that the group as a whole will be more entertained.
